Firefly Ordained Clergy

There are two paths to be ordained as clergy in The Firefly House. The first is through study in The Firefly Academy. Students must first be initiated into Firefly Priesthood, which is an eclectic and tailored program of study designed to instruct students to be proficient at practicing their Craft. After initiation, students can choose to enroll in the Firefly Clergy Course, which covers 24 topics that a minister might encounter during their work. The second path to ordination in The Firefly House is through membership, which is designed so that we work on our spiritual maturity. Level 3 of the TFH Membership program focuses on lay ministry within a group. Completion of Level 4 of the TFH Membership course qualifies one for ordination as Firefly Clergy and focuses on service in the greater community.

Lady Iris Firemoon is the founder and High Priestess of The Firefly House and was the organizing Dean of The Firefly Academy. She has written many of the teaching materials for The Firefly Academy and also serves as the Web Coordinator for all Firefly websites.

Lady Iris has studied Wicca since 1998 , though her life has always had an underlying Pagan tone. When first stumbling upon Wicca she got involved with a small study group eventually taking a class with a local metaphysical shop. The woman teaching the classes took the students and formed a group called Coven Blossom, which was a sister circle of Circle of the Goddess. Circle of the Goddess focused on the studies of Tarot, Astrology, and Qabala, as well as teaching, ritual work, and community. They were an "internet coven" of 12 that got together in-person on the sabbats and for intensives in California. The High Priestess was one of the original members. In fact, most of the original members of the main circle formed sister circles or study groups in various parts of the country. As times changed, Coven Blossom disbanded and Moon Blossom Circle formed out of the ashes. It was then when Lady Iris initiated and three years later, Lady Iris moved across the state and unfortunately had to leave the group.

To fulfill the promises that Lady Iris had made, she began teaching a basic Wicca class through email in 2003. That led to in-person advanced classes. From those classes came Coven of the Spiral Moon. To continue her students' training, they had planned to offer basic Wicca classes in person to people in the Toledo, Ohio area. Just before they were slated to hold the first class, she was offered the dream job and Lady Iris moved to Washington D.C. Not long after that, one of her circle sisters moved to Chicago, and another to L.A. In the summer of 2006, they got together and decided to open an online school to pick up where they left off. It would also be the best for them as they were all so far away plus anyone of them could move at any time. TFA opened up in October of 2006.

It was October 2007 when Lady Iris started the Firefly DC Meetup. They were just meeting once or twice a month for a coffee chat as she always thought that she would move back to the Cleveland, Ohio area, where Lady Iris was born. However, fate did its’ thing, and in January 2009, she decided that she was staying for good and started teaching in person through the meetup again. In March of 2009, Firefly's Coven of the Spiral Moon was founded to pick up right back where she left off. Currently, there are 11 members in the coven besides Iris: two 2nd degree High Priests and ordained Firefly clergy, four 1st degree initiates, three dedicants on cusp of 1st degree initiation, and one little Canadian that hails from across the border.

Lady Saphire is the Assistant Dean of The Firefly Academy, organizer of the Midland Empire Pagan Meetup, and leader of the Celtic Circle of Light coven. She currently teaches Wicca 1 and 2 along with Runes 2 and Advanced Elemental Meditation at The Firefly Academy, and she has written several classes, such as Celtic 1 and 2 and Herbal healing. Celtic magick, Runes, and Oracles is what she focuses her energies on most of the time along with counseling others and doing prayer circles once a month online with the Firefly Community.

She is a Celtic Heritage witch and has been practicing Celtic Witchcraft since she was old enough to talk. She studied with ther grandmother's coven until she passed away when Lady Saphire was 8, and the coven continued to teach her. Four years ago, she wanted to learn more about Paganism, searched online, and found Firefly.

She began the initiative called Pagans Against Domestic Violence, and she is currently working with women, men, and children Pagan or non-Pagan who have either survived or need help to get away from someone who is hurting them. This is something that is dear to her heart as she is a domestic violence survivor herself.

She has been happily married for 18 years and has two beautiful children and one gorgeous grandson. She own s her own business plus currently helps her husband with his business.

Lady Etana joined Firefly while she was living in the Philippines. She organized a Firefly meetup in Manila. She has recently relocated to Canada with her family.
